Paolo Mandica

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome, where I am part of the Perception and Intelligence Lab led by Prof. Fabio Galasso.
My research centers on deep learning and computer vision, with focus on self-supervised learning, multimodal systems, and active learning leveraging hyperbolic neural networks. Some of my research interests and hands-on experience include: action recognition, domain adaptation, and semantic segmentation.

I hold a Master's degree in Data Science from Sapienza University of Rome, where I graduated in 2021 with top honors (110/110 summa cum laude). Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Roma Tre University in 2019. During my undergraduate studies, I interned at Claranet IT, where I developed a serverless application for monitoring event-driven architectures on AWS.

In my free time I enjoy photography, cycling, playing the guitar, and working out at the gym. Feel free to check out some of my photos on Unsplash.
